WCHS-TV - "The Bachelor" Watch and Win Contest Official Rules
Who Can Enter
- To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be U.S. residents and reside in the WCHS-TV viewing area and who are 18 years of age or older.
- Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Communications, Inc, Sinclair Media III, Inc. which owns television broadcast station WCHS (the "Station"), ArbyÕs, Pigeon Forge Business Bureau, their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term "immediate families" includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren.
How To Enter
- No purchase is necessary to enter. Only one entry per contestant.
- To enter, hand print your name, address, phone number, and birth date on a postcard along with the name of the female you think "The Bachelor" will choose and mail it to WCHS-TV Bachelor Contest 1301 Piedmont Road Charleston, WV 25301. Contestants may also enter on line at www.wchstv.com. No mechanically reproduced or completed entries will be accepted.
- The contest starts on Thursday, March 27, 2003 and all entries must be received by Station by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2003. Station is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected mail, or for printing errors or computer or any other electronic malfunctions.
- The finale of "The Bachelor" will air on WCHS-TV on Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at 8:00pm. One (1) winner will be selected by random drawing from among valid entries having the correct answer on May 22, 2003.
- All entries received that are mutilated, tampered with, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All entries become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Communications, Inc. and the Station and will not be acknowledged or returned.
The Prize(s)
- One (1) winner will be chosen. The winner will receive fifty-two $5.00 Gift Certificates from ArbyÕs and two (2) nights hotel accommodations in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (one room, double occupancy); 2 tickets to Dollywood, 2 tickets to Dolly PartonÕs Dixie Stampede Dinner and show, 2 tickets to Country Tonite, dinner for two at the Alabama Grill, breakfast for two at the Old Mill. All other expenses including travel, additional meals, tips, taxes and any other incidental expenses are the responsibility of the winner. The total value of the prize is $920.00.
- The winner will be notified by phone. Before claiming prizes, the winner must provide picture identification in person including their correct name, address and telephone number and social security number to the Station. Winner must sign a release and affidavit of eligibility. All persons traveling on the trip must be 18 years of age or older unless travelers are accompanied by at least one adult who is the parent or legal guardian. All persons traveling on the trip must also sign and return a release, which must be returned with the winnerÕs release and affidavit of eligibility within the time frame outlined above. Winner must show identification to claim prizes. The Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented.
- Failure to collect the prize within five (5) days will constitute forfeiture of the prize. If forfeited, the prize will remain the property of the Station. Another winner will not be accepted.
- There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of the Station. The Station has the right to substitute a prize of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.
- The winners are responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules.
- Only one prize will be awarded per household. Contestants are eligible to win only one prize within any ninety (90) day period, regardless of the number of contests entered.
- Sinclair Media III, Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Communications, Inc. are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize.
- Sinclair Media III, Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Communications, Inc. are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.
- In claiming your prize, you acknowledge Sinclair Media III, Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Communications, Inc. have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.
Odds of Winning/Miscellaneous
- Odds of winning depend upon number of qualified, correct entries in this contest.
- Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at WCHS-TV at 1301 Piedmont Road, Charleston, WV 25301.
- This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Communications, Inc., and Sinclair Media III, Inc. accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
- The Station cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.
- The Station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
