Mark-Paul Gosselaar
Detective John Clark on NYPD Blue

Mark-Paul Gosselaar photo Mark-Paul Gosselaar joins ABC's critically acclaimed drama series "NYPD Blue" as it celebrates its 9th season. He recently starred in the TBS film "Atomic Twister," with Sharon Lawrence and Corbin Bernsen, and also portrayed U.S. Marine Jason Johnson in NBC's "The Princess and the Marine," based on a real-life tale of forbidden love.

Gosselaar is no stranger to episodic drama. In 1998 he played a young software entrepreneur who returns to his hometown in the WB coming-of-age series "Hyperion Bay," and also starred in producer Dick Wolf's NBC drama "D.C." His first major studio film was the 1998 Paramount release "Dead Man on Campus," in which he played good-hearted troublemaker Cooper Frederickson. He also starred in NBC's popular comedy "Saved by the Bell" as another charming troublemaker, Zach Morris.

Gosselaar starred opposite Alan Arkin in the comedy "Necessary Parties," as a teenager who sues his divorcing parents, and in a half-dozen other movies-of-the-week, including ABC's "For the Love of Nancy," NBC's "Saved By the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas" and "She Cried No" -- in which he earned kudos as a savvy teen who is accused of rape and must fight in court for his future. Gosselaar has segued more recently to challenging roles as a journalist who uncovers a deadly sorority hazing in NBC's "Dying to Belong," and as young loser caught in a cycle of homelessness in NBC's "Born into Exile." He has also built his image as a versatile indie actor with such projects as "White Wolves," "Under a Killing Moon," "Abraxus II" and "Sticks and Stones."

Having tried his hand at a variety of sports -- including skydiving -- Gosselaar has narrowed his sporting interests to three: golf, hockey and his first love -- motorcycle racing. He is happy to share his knowledge and skills, teaching advanced driving to others in his spare time. He continues to do his part to steer young people into sports and away from the hazards of drugs, having served as an official spokesperson for the United States Soccer Organization and D.A.R.E.
