David Arquette Jason Ventress on In Case of Emergency  David Arquette, one of the most versatile working actors today, recently completed production on "The Tripper," which he wrote, directed and starred in. The cast included Thomas Jane, Lukas Haas, Paul Reubens, Richmond Arquette, Brad Hunt, Balthazar Getty and Jason Mewes. Arquette also completed production on the comedy, "The Darwin Awards," which earned him a Darwin Award at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. Discovered at Sundance for his role in "Johns" in 1997, Arquette has been involved as both an actor and producer in five films that have all made their debut at Sundance, including the 1997 entry "Dream with the Fishes," written and directed by Finn Taylor. In 1998 he starred opposite Stanley Tucci and Kate Capshaw in "The Alarmist," based on Keith Reddin's play, "Life During Wartime." Arquette top-lined the successful comedies "See Spot Run" and "Never Been Kissed," as well as the family film "The Adventures of Shark Boy & Lava Girl in 3D." He became a household name as Deputy Dewey in the "Scream" trilogy; original plans called for his character to be killed off in the first installment, but his scene-stealing efforts assured his longevity. For his roles in "Never Been Kissed" and "Scream II," Arquette was recognized with Blockbuster Awards. He also starred in "Eight Legged Freaks" for Warner Bros. Recent roles include "Slingshot" with Thora Birch and Julianna Margulies; Fox Searchlight's "Never Die Alone," co-starring with rap star DMX; Lions Gate's Holocaust drama, "The Grey Zone," which won him critical praise for his role as a Jewish prisoner; "Stealing Sinatra," opposite William H. Macy for Showtime Films, and "Happy Here and Now." On the small screen he was most recently seen in the movie "Timebomb" with Richard T. Jones and Angela Bassett. Arquette often gives time to charitable causes, particularly children's organizations such as Camp Laurel, which provides a positive physical and mental escape from living with HIV/AIDS. In honor of his mother who passed away from breast cancer, Arquette is involved with various Breast Cancer benefits, and also serves on the Ambassador Board for the Make-A-Wish Foundation's Greater Los Angeles Area Chapter. Last year Arquette and his wife formed their own production company, Coquette. As part of Coquette, he made his television series producing debut with the interior design show "Mix It Up," for cable's WE (Women's Entertainment) Network. The show profiled couples and roommates whose styles are at odds. Coquette has several other projects in development, including a drama that has been sold to HBO entitled "The Fall and Rise of Taylor Kennedy."
