George Lopez is one of the premiere comedic talents in entertainment. He now stars in a new half-hour comedy series, "George Lopez," for Warner Bros. Television and the ABC Television Network. The series will be executive-produced by Bruce Helford ("The Drew Carey Show," "Rosanne") and actress Sandra Bullock. Mr. Helford, Robert Borden, Academy Award(-winner Deborah Oppenheimer (all from "The Drew Carey Show") and Ms. Bullock will serve as executive producers.Maintaining an active schedule as a stand-up comedian, George Lopez continues to sell out comedy clubs and theaters across the country. Until recently he hosted his own radio show in Los Angeles, where he was the first Latino to headline the keystone morning radio slot on an English-language station. He has also earned kudos for his dramatic role in the feature "Bread and Roses," which was the winner of the Phoenix Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Additionally, he also has recurring roles in the Nickelodeon series "The Brothers Garcia" and Showtime's "Resurrection Boulevard," and he is featured in HBO's dramatic original movie, "Real Women Have Curves," which is currently being shown at Sundance and will air later this year. Also currently in release on Oglio Records/Warner Bros. is George's new CD, "Right Now Right Now." George has appeared on over 70 television programs, including "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," Showtime's "Latino Laugh Festival" and ABC's "Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher." He is also a frequent host on Univision's "Que Locos." A native of Los Angeles, George devotes much of his time and energy to cultural and charitable events. He was recently named Honorary Mayor of Los Angeles for his extensive fundraising efforts benefiting earthquake victims, and has received the Manny Mota Foundation Community Spirit Award. He has sat on the board and assisted in fundraising efforts for the Starlight Foundation, which benefits terminally ill children, and We Care for Youth, which assists young people in developing job skills.
