John Carroll Lynch's credits include feature films, theatre and television. Most recently he starred as Mr. Livingston in the Touchstone comedy, "Bubble Boy," and in John Schlesinger's "The Next Best Thing," co-starring with Madonna and Rupert Everett. Upcoming projects include "Bug," "Par 6" and "The Good Girl," in which he appears with Jake Gyllenhaal, his "Bubble Boy" co-star, and Jennifer Aniston.

Additional film credits include "Face/Off," "Fargo," "Waking the Dead," "Anywhere But Here," "Late Last Night," "Pushing Tin," "Freak Weather," "The Naked Man," "Restaurant," "Mercury Rising," "No Strings Attached," "Volcano," "Grumpy Old Men," "Feeling Minnesota" and "Beautiful Girls."

On television, in addition to "The Drew Carey Show," Lynch has appeared in two multi-award winning shows, HBO's miniseries "From the Earth to the Moon" and "Oprah Winfrey Presents: Tuesdays With Morrie." He has also appeared on episodes of "The West Wing," "Gideon's Crossing," "The Practice," "Frasier" and "Murder One."

A native of Denver, Colorado, John received his BFA from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He worked at the Arena Stage, Folger Theatre and the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. Prior to his move to Los Angeles, he spent eight years in Minneapolis at the Guthrie Theatre, where he performed in over 30 productions, including "The Zoo Story," "Home," "As You Like It" and "The Man Who Came to Dinner." At the South Coast Repertory Theatre he originated the role of Gabe in the Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Dinner with Friends."
